    • Multi Party Approval

      Integrating supplier's approval processes

      Sarah is a project manager at an apparel company who has to coordinate ongoing design processes across all relevant departments.

      Via the internal ERP, She sees that Tom from Marketing just approved their promotional materials and that the Purchasing department should now submit their prime costs.

      Anna from Purchasing has to provide answers to detailed questions to other departments and suppliers, but is only able to do so by phone or email for security reasons.


      The Challenge:
      Anna must currently do all approval work manually. This is time consuming and error-prone

      Using Unibright’s “Multi-Party Approval” template:
      Sarah visually designs a Blockchain integration to handle this process automatically without writing a single line of code. She then instantly generates Smart Contracts that control the flow of production, integrating them into the existing ERP by automatically generating Smart Adapters.

      Sarah is now able to check the current approval state with the Unibright Explorer and is happy to tell Anna that communication with suppliers is no longer a manual process thanks to blockchain based business integration! Easy and smart!

      Dave loves Beer and is interested to learn more about how his beverages were made. He writes to some of his favourite breweries to ask about the origin of their ingredients, but does not receive a reply.

      Martin works at a brewery and is tasked with organizing data about ingredients, materials, and the company’s production processes.


      The Challenge:
      Martin’s brewery wants to give detailed production information to their customers and stakeholders in a secure, transparent, and trustworthy way, without requiring a manual assessment of every bottle shipped.

      Using Unibright’s “Batch Tracing” Template:
      Martin can visually design a workflow to trace all aspects of their business operations from origin to end-consumer, update batch information automatically with a smart contract living in a blockchain, map the ERP specific business objects to the structure of the smart contract automatically, and monitor the current state of these processes in real time.

      Dave is happy! His favourite brewery established a website where he can enter the batch number of his order and instantly learn the origin and processing time of all ingredients in his beer; an easy task thanks to blockchain based business integration! Cheers!

    • Asset Lifecycle

      Andrew must decide if his company should buy an airplane from an insolvent competitor. To do this, he needs to know about the history of the vehicle in question.

      Tina works for a regulatory authority that approves the resale of aeroplanes by checking the chain of ownership, maintenance, and repairs for each plane being sold.

      Bob is looking for detailed information on the planes he will be traveling aboard. He considers it a matter of safety and is willing to pay a few bucks more to be provided with this information.


      The Challenge:
      Several parties need to access years worth of unmanipulated safety information on an asset. Events in the assets lifecycle, such as owner change, planned and unplanned inspections, numbers of flights, and covered distance, must be tracked and made transparently available.

      Using the Unibright framework
      Using the “Asset Lifecycle” Template, such a workflow may be visually designed with no coding knowledge required. Necessary smart contracts are then generated automatically, published on a public blockchain, and connected to individual IT systems. The current state of the process may then be monitored and presented to the public in real time.

      Andrew, Tina and Bob are able to keep track of ownership transferals, maintenance and repair history in the complex life cycle of an aircraft. For all parties, the safety and reliability of the involved aircraft is transparently traceable and secure thanks to blockchain based business integration! Have a safe flight!

    • Request for Quotation

      Peter is responsible for procurement in his company. He needs to get quotes and place orders for all required materials.

      Using his company’s ERP-system, he can see what materials need to be procured.

      Peter and his colleagues must email or phone their suppliers to get quotes on the needed materials.


      The Challenge:
      All possible suppliers have to be contacted manually via email or phone. Peter must then organize and compare all quotes that he obtains.

      Using Unibright’s “Request for Quotation” template
      Peter visually defines the workflow for this process and includes a list of possible suppliers. He automatically generates a smart contract and smart adapter that connect directy to his ERP system. The smart contract triggers quotes on the required material from potential suppliers. They also provide additional information, such as the requested quantity, a desired delivery date, and a proposed prime cost.

      The smart contract Peter generated automatically communicates with his suppliers and negotiates quotes. He is able to monitor the ongoing process using the Unibright Explorer. His full information flow is integrated into his existing ERP-System.

    • Shipping Process Monitoring

      Jane is warehouse manager who needs to keep track of when shipments go out to customers by rail and ship, often thousands of miles away.

      Within her ERP system, she sees what containers have been sent and when they are expected by the recipients. She is responsible for maintaining communication with different shippers to determine the whereabouts of the goods shipped by her company.

      Jim from the customer support center has to answer questions from the recipients about the expected goods; where they are, will the delivery date be met, can information about the shipment be updated?


      The Challenge:
      Jane and here colleagues have to track all shipping containers manually by getting in touch with different shippers and actively requesting the information.

      Jane visually designs the shipping process using the IoT-Data Collector-Template. A Smart Contract that acts as a trusted information database is generated. Data is collected from a series of IoT sensors, which ae used to inform the ERP-System of all arrivals, departures, and general changes.

      Jane is now able to track the location of shipped goods using the Unibyte Explorer. Jim can now easily provide customers with their requested shipping updates by making use of the Unibright Explorer to query the goods in-transit.

    • Invoice Releasing

      Bill is an accounting manager, responsible for getting invoices approved and released. He has to check every invoice manually to decide which action to initiate and who to include in the releasing process.

      With the ERP system, he checks all the newly created invoices and each clients payment history. Based on the amount and the invoice recipient, he decides which co-workers to include into the process.

      Elena from the Customer Support has to review and approve the payment terms on behalf of the invoice recipient. Frank, a key account manager has to approve every invoice with an amount larger than 10k.


      The Challenge:
      Bill and his colleagues have to manually release every invoice, decide which checks to perform, and whom to include in the releasing process.

      After having visually designed the invoice releasing process in the workflow designer and adding all checks, roles, and people involved, the needed Smart Contract is generated automatically. Smart adapters then connect to the existing accountng and ERP systems.

      Within this integrated solution, a smart contract can define the rules used to request any needed approvals or additional actions automatically. Bill, Elena and Frank are able to monitor every invoice in real-time using the Unibright Explorer and integrate corresponding data into their existing IT systems.

    • New Hire

      Grace is a human resources manager responsible for new hires. She has to manually conduct background checks on every new applicant. Using the data she receives from each check, she must decide whether an applicant qualifies for a job interview.

      With the ERP system, she decides which information to request and which colleagues to involve, based on the job posting and the position offered.

      Steve, her assistant, has to contact each qualifying applicant and schedule a job interview via phone or email.


      The Challenge:
      Grace has to manually decide which additional data to request and if each candidate qualifies. Then, all information requests and interview schedules have to be done by hand using email or phone.

      Unibright Solution “Multi Party Approval” template and “Project Management” template
      Grace is able to define the New Hire Workflow visually. She adds all rules for checks and additional data on the candidate within the workflow. A Smart Contract containing all the logic performed in the hiring process is generated. The Smart Contract is connected to the existing ERP system via a generated Smart Adapter.

      Using this integrated solution, a smart contract uses defined rules to choose which checks to perform on candidates and requests any necessary additional data. The Smart Contract can automatically send the invitation or a refusal to each applicant based on the defined logic. Smart Contracts now complete the work Grace and her colleagues had to do manually before. Now, they can monitor their automated hiring process within the Unibright Explorer.

    • Insurance Claim processing

      Peter is a claims manager at an insurance company. He has to manually check each claim against the internal policy to determine whether to decline a claim or initiate a payout.

      Using the ERP system, he checks the underlying policy against similar past claims to determine whether each claim is valid. If a claim is valid, he has to calculate the payout and contact the accountant managers.

      Gretchen, the accounting manager, has to perform each payout based on the claims that Peter approves.


      The Challenge:
      All claims have to be approved or declined manually. If a payout is initiated, the accounting manager has to release the payment manually.

      Using Unibright solution “Claim processing”
      Peter is able to define a workflow visually including the rules used to perform every claim. He can input checks that are executed based on past claims and specify norms for declining or apprving. A Smart Contract is generated containing the claim processing logic and is then connected to the ERP system using a Smart Adapter.

      The Unibright conformant smart contract performs error checking, initiates approval workflows and calculates payouts based on the claim, the underlying policy, and the event occurring. The smart contract can even pay out insurable events automatically.

    • Milestone based project payment

      Noam is a project manager at a construction company. He has to supervise the ongoing projects. When milestones are completed, he must trigger contractor payments.

      Using the ERP system, Noam can see all milestone-based payments that have been agreed upon for each project. He continuously checks for new events that meet the necessary conditions within each project and he triggers milestone payments with his colleagues.

      Heidi, an accounting manager, is informed by Noam that a condition has been met and therefore a payment has to be made. She receives payment data by mail from Noam and performs each payment.


      The Challenge:
      Noam has to manually check all the milestones defined for each project. If the condition for payment is met, he has to inform the accounting manager and instruct her to perform the payment.

      Using Unibright Solution “Milestone Payment”
      Noam is able to input all the conditions for payments into the workflow designer. A Smart Contract is connected to the ERP system that checks whether a milestone-based payment is due.

      The Unibright conformant smart contract continuously checks defined milestone conditions for payments that should be made. This enables all parties involved in each project to agree upon a payment plan based on terms that are executed reliably by the Unibright conformant smart contract.

    Unibright tokens are required to register every smart contract deployed on our platform. This mandatory process will help standardize the highest quality smart contracts throughout our entire platform.

    Unibright tokens are required each time a unibright conformant smart contract is connecting to another contract or existing it system via the Unibright Connector.

    Additional Unibright Features

    In addition to paying for smart contracts, our tokens may also be used to purchase workflow templates and smart adapters developed by Unibright.

    Incentivising Clients

    During the bootstrap phase of our development, Unibright will reserve a number of tokens to distribute amongst companies who are early adopters. This will lower the entry hurdle for new customers.

    Locked Tokens

    Unibright clients need to bring Unibright Tokens into our platform and lock them for the time they use our Framework.

    Token Calculator

    This calculator helps to estimate how many Tokens a client needs to lock inside our platform to use a specific template, for example our Multi Party Approval Template. Redeemed tokens can be refilled after 30 days for a fixed price (depending on contract).
